March 6th, 2007

Showcasing International business excellence – nominees for the London Passport to Export Awards 2007 are announced

21 London companies have been shortlisted for the Passport to Export Awards, London’s only international business awards programme, which recognises the successes of the capital’s SMEs in trading internationally under UK Trade & Investment’s (UKTI) Passport to Export programme.

Passport to Export is UKTI’s flagship programme which helps companies start taking their products and services to new markets abroad. The companies nominated for awards have demonstrated exceptional results in exporting their products and services and include Camden-based Dexela Ltd, which is developing accurate and sensitive 3D imaging technology for the early detection of breast cancer, and Photobox, the online digital photo service, which is based in Brent.

Winners will be announced at the Passport to Export Awards Dinner on 29 March, hosted by Sandi Toksvig at Church Hall in Westminster. It is planned as the finale of UKTI’s International Month, which comprises events, training days and seminars covering particular sectors and markets to give essential insights into specific areas of opportunity abroad.

Winning a Passport to Export Award increases respect within the industry, raises awareness of a company and its products as well as boosting well-deserved company pride.

Radiant Heating

February 18th, 2007

Aesthetics, Cleanliness, Control, Environmental & Economic Efficiency. All great reasons driving the growth of radiant heating. The growing popularity of radiant heating with todays value-concious and environmentally concerned home owners is testament to these benefits.

  • Would you rather have radiators or a totally invisible heating system?
  • Would you rather have hot/cold spots and draughts or comfortable warm toes and a cool head?
  • Would you rather heat your whole house or just the areas you’re using?
  • Would you like to reduce airbourne allergens and dust in your home?
  • Would you rather heat the space above your head or the space below it?

Radiant heating not only looks good in your home (by being invisible) but it’s also a clean, energy efficient and environmentally-friendly heating solution for those looking for alternatives to traditional forms of warming their home.

Electric radiant heating is efficient for two reasons: comfort can be achieved at 4-50F/2-30C lower operating point on the thermostat; and, electric radiant heating heats objects, including people, in the same way that the sun warms you through a window on a cold winter day. Conventional heating systems carry hot air to the ceiling where you don’t need it creating waste and necessitating a higher operating point at the thermostat.

Invented centuries before our now traditional forms of heating radiant heating is becoming ever more popular as the major benefits and new innovations (such as our carbon radiant heating) drive increased installations in new and old homes/offices.

Carbon UL listed laminate flooring heater

February 4th, 2007

Carbon layer

The only UL listed carbon element in North America for laminate floor heating

Some of the benefits you’ll enjoy with Warmup’s new Carbon Heating System:

Cleaner – Underfloor heating reduces air currents and hence the number of airbourne allergen and dust, aiding allergy sufferers.

Aesthetics – Once the system is installed, it’s hidden, except for the discreet room thermostat. It can be used as a sole source of heating (have an architect do a heat loss calculation first), so it can replace unattractive, wal-hungry radiators, giving you more design freedom and wall space within a room. It’s also ideal for rooms with high ceilings.

Warm floors, when you want, where you want – A key benefit of electric underfloor heating is the option of warm floors when you want them, all year round, without having to heat your entire home. Each room can be individually adjusted to suit your needs.

Environmentally and economically efficient – Radiant heat is a gentle heat rising from the floor, rather than heating the ceiling space first, offering you the same comfort levels while operating at 4-50F/2-30C lower than convection systems. As a result, you save on fuel costs, especially if the subfloor is well insulated (we recommend Warmup Insulation Boards).

Safe – it won’t warp laminate or overheat because it has a positive temperature coefficient which self regulates the system, so the warmer the element gets, the lower the energy draw (maximum heating capacity is 800F/26.50C). It has been tested extensively and is UL listed, giving you peace of mind.

Warmup Testimonials

November 30th, 2006

Its always good when customers say nice things about you:

H. Schreiber, Germany:

Dear Mrs Thull, Thank you very much for your kind support (delivery of the system and the repair kit). I never experienced such a commitment and helpfulness before. Please pass my regards on to your husband. For my underfloor heating in my bathroom (Q2, 2007) Warmup will certainly be my first address. A very satisfied customer. Best regards from Munic
H. Schreiber

Rosamund Fellowes, UK:

Dear Howard, Thank you very much for your email. I am sorry to have pestered you with such an in inane request. I did in fact speak to one of your very helpful and well trained colleagues, who gave out some excellent advice re adhesive. I had to, in the end, purchase one more sheet of insulating board which was so easy from your warehouse. It is now all down and tiled over and lovely and warm. Thank you for all your help and advice. I will now persuade everyone to install it ! With best wishes.
Rosamund Fellowes

Joy Dancses, US:

It is damp and dreary outside this morning. I poured a cup of coffee in the kitchen and strolled into the den. In the den my bare feet were greeted by a warm tile floor. What a thrilling sensual sensation radiating from my feet through my whole body.Everyone needs heated tiles. It is not a luxury it is a necessity.
Joy Dancses

C. Brennan, UK:

I wish to congratulate you on the excellent service I have received from one of your technical support staff (Dorna). I have recently had some problems with my (much loved) Warmup underfloor heating system and Dorna has ensured that I was able to correct the problem. Indeed, were it not for the assistance I have received I probably would have given up trying to fix it and been left deeply unsatisfied with the product. As it is I should soon have my warm floor back and will recommend the system to anyone that is in the market for such a product. With this type of product after-sales care and technical support is important and in this case it was faultless. Well done and thank you! Kind regards
C. Brennan

Allan & Janet Sterry, UK:

Dear Warm Up People, I’ve just finished my bathroom floor and wanted to say how utterly delighted my wife and I are with it. It’s been one of the best DIY jobs I’ve ever done and everybody I’ve showed it to has been impressed. I used the on-line help for a couple of questions and found that really useful and even find the little multi tool gift to be good and in no way tacky. The wall Tstat does everything you want and I’m delighted with that unit too! Sorry I can’t offer any suggestions for improvement but I’m now looking at my kitchen floor…..I wonder…..?? Thank You, Very, Very Pleased
